Hello Brad
Good question. It is one of the toughest challenges faced by website owners especially with so much competition in today's online marketplace.
While search engine optimization is an on going process here are the basics your site must have to even begin competing in the search engines :
- Landing on your home page I see that the title of your page is simply "improvingpeople-home" . This is NOT an effective title at all. A title MUST have relevant keyword(s) embedded. In your case this might be "Professional Speaker" , "Management Consulting" or "Personal Profiling"
- Of course you want to add keywords that people are searching for. You can use a free tool such as Google's keyword suggestion tool to see exactly which search terms people use for your type of product or service. Then incorporate those keywords in your TITLE and META TAGS.
- The Metamajix Tool has some great ways to optimize your web pages for potentially higher search engine rankings. You simply copy and paste the HTML code provided in the tool and then follow the powerful guidelines for generating top notch META tags for all your web pages. One of our clients successfully used MetaMajix to rank #2 in Google for her keywords.
- Furthermore, under your products page I see you have ebooks for sale but there are no descriptions for the ebooks at all. How else would a potential customer be compelled to buy your ebooks? Each ebook must be accompanied by a powerful sales letter which further adds content and keywords to your web pages for improved search engine rankings.
Best Of Luck!
