I need to accept payments online. How do I go about doing this?
- Posted by Brian

I am in the process of creating a website to sell an ebook that I personally wrote. I do not have a business merchant account so how do I collect credit card payments from buyers.

Hello Brian.

PayPal is a great way for you to accept online payments from your potential customers. You do not need a merchant account and it is free to sign up with PayPal. They only charge you a nominal percentage of your selling price when your product sells.

There is a tool in the website booster kit called WebPayPro that can help your ebook sales significantly. The reason I mention this is because it can also allow you to deliver your ebook automatically to the buyer. So even if it's 3 am in the morning your ebook can get delivered to your buyer without you having to crawl out of bed.

An additional benefit of this tool is that you can create PayPal buttons to add to your website quickly and easily right off your desktop and you can even encrypt the HTML code so that would-be thieves can not steal your ebook without paying for it first.

Good luck with your new venture :)
